Storm & emergency

Storm & emergency, done carefully.

Kansas City storms don’t give much warning: straight-line winds in summer, ice in winter. When a tree or a big limb comes down on something, the priority is getting it off without causing more damage. That means cutting in the right order, from the lift or a climbing line, while the wood is still bent and loaded with tension.

Call or text (816) 491-5867 with what happened, plus a photo if you can. We’re open Monday through Saturday, 8 AM to 6 PM. Tell us if anything is on the house, on a vehicle or blocking the driveway so we can prioritize it.

Once the emergency part is handled, we clean up the brush, cut the wood and look over the trees still standing. Split trunks and hanging limbs are often more dangerous the day after a storm than during it.

Questions

Storm & emergency FAQ

What should I do while I wait?

Stay out from under the damaged tree, keep kids and pets away, and don’t try to cut a limb that’s bent under tension. If anything is touching a power line, stay clear and call your electric utility first.

Will my insurance cover it?

That depends on your policy and what the tree hit. If you’re filing a claim, take photos before anything is moved, as long as it’s safe to get close.

Do you clean up after the tree is off?

Yes. Brush and debris are hauled away, and we can cut the wood for you to keep if you want it.
